Indigo Expands Middle East Network With Dubai-Surat Direct Flights

Indian budget airline IndiGo announced direct flights between Dubai and Surat, known as the diamond city in the western Indian state of Gujarat.

The new flight services, announced as part of the airline’s Middle East network expansion, will be launched from February 23, the airline said in a media statement.

The flights will operate thrice a week.

The addition of the new route is designed to facilitate seamless travel for tourists and business travellers and enhance bilateral economic growth and relations between India and the UAE, the airline said.

With the addition of this flight, Surat becomes the second city in Gujarat, with direct connectivity to Dubai on the IndiGo network.

IndiGo also announced launching additional frequencies on its Hyderabad-Dubai route from February 22.

Head of Global Sales Vinay Malhotra, said with the addition of these flights, IndiGo will be operating 108 direct flights a week to Dubai from 13 cities in India.

Connectivity between Dubai and Surat will not only boost tourism in the cities but also open newer trade opportunities and promote economic growth, he said.
