Bahrain Health Ministry Warns Against Scam Calls, Messages
Bahrain’s Ministry of Health has warned against suspicious WhatsApp calls and messages using its logo to steal sensitive information.
These calls, which speak on behalf of the Ministry of Health, collect information about COVID-19 vaccination doses.
The Ministry’s official Instagram page states that suspicious communications are requesting people to download a fake app that collects COVID-19 vaccination dose information, allowing the fake app to access mobile, bank account, and device-linked accounts.
The Ministry confirms that these communications are fraudulent and is working with the Anti-Cybercrime Department to handle the matter.
The only approved app for Coronavirus vaccination doses in Bahrain is the BeAware App, which is designed to automatically update and maintain the highest levels of security and privacy.
