Zimbabwe: ‘Cannibal Serial Killer’ Allegedly Preyed on Homeless Victims in Gruesome Killing Spree

In a shocking and horrifying turn of events, a 20-year-old man named Thadolwenkosi Ndlovu has been apprehended by Zimbabwean police for his alleged involvement in a gruesome killing spree. The spree, which spanned eight days from August 28 to September 4, reportedly claimed the lives of five homeless victims in the capital city of Harare.

According to reports, Ndlovu is accused of using concrete blocks to fatally strike his victims while they were sleeping. He would then proceed to extract their organs using broken glass. Furthermore, there are claims that he cooked and consumed his victims’ entrails on an open fire. However, during his court appearance, Ndlovu recanted his previous confession of cannibalism, asserting that it had been coerced by detectives.

Among the disturbing details emerging from the investigation, it is alleged that Ndlovu attempted to mutilate one victim’s genitals but fled before completing the act. The accused, who himself was reportedly homeless, has been remanded in custody.

Two of Ndlovu’s victims have been identified as Emmanuel Godfrey, 25, and Kutenda Chisanduro, whose age remains undisclosed. The accused faces charges of five counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder. It has also been revealed that Ndlovu has a history of imprisonment in both Harare and his hometown of Bulawayo. He is believed to be connected to three additional murder cases in Bulawayo from 2020.

News of Ndlovu’s crimes has spread fear among the homeless population in Harare, prompting some to seek safety in groups or to temporarily leave the city. The shocking nature of the murders has led to speculation about potential ritualistic motives, although police have not yet found evidence to support such claims. George Kandiyero, president of the Zimbabwe National Traditional Healers’ Association, highlighted the possibility of ritualistic beliefs driving Ndlovu’s actions.

This shocking series of events comes just a year after another serial killer, Bright Zhantali, was apprehended for nine murders in a central Zimbabwean city. The impact of these crimes on the local community is undeniable, with many expressing ongoing fear and concerns over the safety of the streets.

As investigations continue, Zimbabwe grapples with the aftermath of these horrific crimes, seeking justice for the victims and answers to the disturbing motives behind Ndlovu’s alleged killing spree.
