Saudi: Jeddah Airport Tops November Rankings

Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has issued its monthly report on the performance of domestic and international airports in Saudi Arabia for November.

The airports are assessed according to 11 basic performance measurement criteria.

Airports are ranked by Saudi Arabia’s GACA on their compliance in achieving targets set for each standard in a unified way of measurement across all airports, such as check-in, security control, passport control, customs control, asset availability and delays caused by the airport operator.

King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, King Fahd International Airport, Abha International Airport, Al-Ahsa International Airport and Gurayat Airport took the leading positions in the report.

Among international airports with more than 15m passengers annually, King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah took the first place, with a compliance rate of 91 per cent, followed by King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh with 82 per cent.

In the category of international airports with five to 15m passengers annually, King Fahd International Airport led with a compliance rate of 91 per cent.

Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport came second with a compliance rate of 91 per cent. King Fahd International Airport outperformed Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in the criterion achievement.

Among international airports with two to five million passengers annually, Abha International Airport took the first place with a 91 per cent compliance rate. King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Jizan followed with an 82 per cent compliance rate.

In the category of international airports with less than two million passengers, Al-Ahsa International Airport achieved a 100 per cent compliance rate, outperforming peers in terms of total average waiting time for departures and arrivals.

For domestic airports in Saudi Arabia, Gurayat Airport topped with a 100 per cent compliance rate, surpassing peers in terms of total average waiting time for flights departing and arriving.
