The Plans are in motion for the development of key projects in Sitra, including the Central Market development project spanning 4,238 square metres and the establishment of two new multi-purpose parks in Block 611. This initiative is part of the Bahrain Capital Governorate improvement projects, as reported by BNA, citing senior ministers.

During an inspection visit to the project sites at Sitra, Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, and Ibrahim bin Hassan Al Hawaj, Minister of Works, evaluated the progress of ongoing projects in the Capital Governorate’s ninth constituency in Sitra. These projects are part of the third package aimed at developing roads and sanitation.

Emphasising the need to strengthen cooperation between the executive and legislative branches, Al Mubarak and Al Hawaj highlighted the significant role of the Capital Municipal Council and municipal councils in overseeing various projects. Al Mubarak stated that the ministry is committed to implementing service projects that enhance infrastructure and provide high-quality municipal and utility services to meet community needs.

Additionally, Al Mubarak revealed plans for a new 8,200-square-metre football stadium in Block 608 in Sitra. He mentioned the recent reopening of Ma’ameer Park after renovation in collaboration with Bapco. The minister also outlined upcoming projects such as the Seafront in Eker Village and afforestation initiatives in various areas of Sitra under the National Afforestation Campaign.

Al Hawaj affirmed that the Works Ministry is executing its strategy, encompassing infrastructure development projects contributing to urban and investment development in Bahrain. This approach aims to enhance public services and infrastructure, aligning with citizens’ aspirations and promoting national economic advancement.

The ministry is actively working on sanitation projects, connecting homes and buildings to the sewage network in blocks 623, 624, 607, and 608. This effort is expected to expand the number of beneficiaries.
