UAE: K9 unit helped police crack 2 criminal cases
Dubai police officials, with the help of a K9 unit, were able to solve two crime cases.
Major Salah Khalifa Al Mazrouei, Director, K9, said that trained canines helped uncover a murder that had occurred in 2019 by tracing the location where the body was buried.
The K9 unit also helped bust a drug racket at Jebel Ali port in Dubai.
Investigations revealed that a gang of criminals were trying to smuggle 35.3 million pills of captagon, a popular recreational drug in the Arabian Peninsula, by hiding them inside electricity cables.
The operation was codenamed “Pule 2” in recognition of Pule, the K9 that helped bust the case, Major Al Mazrouei added.
