The historical Diriyah tomorrow is scheduled, for the sixth consecutive time, to host the ABB FIA Formula E 2024 World Championship through the second and third rounds of the 10th season of the championship that will be held on January 26 and 27.

SPA quoted Minister of Sport and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, as saying in a press statement: “Once again, we are happy to host one of the world’s most important motor races, hosted in Diriyah for the sixth time in a row, which confirms the great interest we receive from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, which always enables us to move forward by hosting more international sporting events, according to the best organizational potential, which made our homeland a home and capital of major international championships and events.”

Prince Abdulaziz added: “Hosting the Formula E for the sixth consecutive year enhances the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s status and ability to host various sporting events, in general, and motor races, in particular.”

The race, which is one of the events of the 2024 Diriyah season, will see the participation of 22 elite drivers representing 11 global teams to participate in the upcoming event, headed by driver of Andretti Global and last year’s World Championship holder British Jake Dennis, who finished second in both rounds of the 2023 Formula E Diriyah race, as well as six former world series title holders and German driver Pascal Wehrlein of TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E team, who won last season’s Diriyah race.
