Air Arabia Abu Dhabi, the first low-cost carrier in the UAE capital, will relocate its operations to Terminal A, a state-of-the-art facility at the emirate’s Zayed International Airport, on November 14.

Terminal A, one of the largest airport terminals in the world, is expected to cater to up to 45 million passengers annually, process 11,000 travellers per hour, and accommodate 79 aircraft simultaneously.

The inaugural flight to arrive at the new terminal will be from Beirut, Lebanon, scheduled to land at 17:55 on November 14.

Shortly after, Air Arabia Abu Dhabi’s first departing flight will head to Kolkata, India, at 18:55 on the same day.

The opening of Terminal A comes at a time when global air traffic is steadily recovering, approaching levels seen before the pandemic.

The relocation of the carrier’s operations to the new terminal marks the airline’s third phase of transition.

Terminal A aims to prioritise passenger experience, optimise operations, and ensure seamless connectivity.

“We are looking forward to commencing our operations from Terminal A, a world-class facility that will support our ambition to increase our current fleet capacity to meet growing travel demands into and out of the UAE capital. Equipped with advanced technologies to facilitate seamless travel, Terminal A will maximize comfort and elevate the travel experience of our passengers while strengthening Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading global tourism and business hub,” Adel Al Ali, Group Chief Executive Officer of Air Arabia said.

Terminal A has been designed to offer seamless connectivity for visitors and transit passengers, featuring advanced biometric technology for a smoother journey.

The terminal also sets a new standard for airport experiences, providing over 160 diverse retail and dining options to cater to various tastes and preferences.

With a focus on passenger comfort, Terminal A offers an array of amenities, including luxurious lounges, spa facilities, and relaxation areas for unwinding.

“I would like to welcome Air Arabia to their new home at Terminal A, a state-of-the-art terminal with facilities to meet the airline’s growing demands. Terminal A is the ideal base for airlines looking to boost their international connectivity. Providing a raft of cutting-edge facilities for both passengers and carriers, it will further strengthen Abu Dhabi’s global standing as an aviation hub,” Elena Sorlini, Managing Director and Interim CEO of Abu Dhabi Airports said.
