Qatar Airways Announces Expansion To Saudi With Yanbu Services

Qatar Airways has announced plans to expand into Saudi Arabia, with two new gateways opening and reopening. The Doha-based carrier will now operate over 125 weekly flights to nine cities in Saudi Arabia.

Notably, the major airline will reopen Yanbu services alongside launching to Al Ula and Tabuk.

On October 29, Al Ula will launch, followed by Yanbu on December 6, and lastly, Tabuk on December 14. Qatar believes these routes will allow travellers more options and flexibility when heading to Saudi Arabia.

Cities that are part of the Saudi Arabia network include Jeddah, Riyadh, and Medine. It’s a comprehensive network that Qatar Airways is continuing to look forward to expanding upon.

The new routes will be hugely important, not just for leisure travel but also for facilitating business travel. This is through strengthening economic ties and cultural exchanges between the pair, per Qatar Airways.

Flights to Yanbu will operate on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday as QR 1216 and 1217. At the same time, Tabuk will run on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday as QR 1220/1221. Lastly, Al Ula will fly on Saturday and Thursday as QR1202/1203.
