Bahrain: Highest spike in cases with 2,354 new infections

Out of 19,308 COVID-19 tests carried out on 19 May 2021, 2354 new cases have been detected among 855 expatriate workers, 1485 new cases are contacts of active cases, and 14 travel related. There were 1,535 recoveries, increasing total recoveries to 188,496.

Two Bahraini men, 62 and 72; three Bahraini women, 59, 69 and 66; and three expat men, 65, 50 and 36, died yesterday, taking the death toll to 773. No information was provided if they suffered any preexisting medical conditions.

There are currently 197 cases in a critical condition, and 215 cases receiving treatment. 17,412 are stable out of a total of 17,609 active cases.
