Saudi: Third phase of the free local roaming service launched

Saudi Arabia has launched the third phase of the free local roaming service, with the service now being available in the Eastern, Northern Borders and Al-Jouf regions.

The second phase of the local roaming service will cover 422 villages in the Eastern Region, and 145 villages in the Al-Jouf region, and 124 villages in the Northern Borders region. The first phase of the free-roaming service has been completed, covering parts of the Asir region, followed by the second phase, covering the Riyadh and Al-Qassim regions.

The completion of the service, targeted at the 21,000 villages covered by telecommunications services in the rest of the regions in the Kingdom, has been confirmed by the end of 2021.
